PETS Atticus a golden retriever. Boo a barn owl. Scout a black cat. BACKGROUND Matilda, or Matti as she was known to her friends was, and continues to be a strong and intelligent woman. A woman from Ravenclaw, descendant of Merlin (or so the family likes to preach) the pureblooded woman was not going with what was expected of her when she married a halfblood. Robert Corner was a ravenclaw as well. Two years her senior too, born to two muggleborns, he was raised in a half world. Jumping from the magic to the muggle world constantly gave him what he says as a 'Neutral Perspective of the World'. Robert was never one to be fantastic with women. Infact he was rather horrible. Though there was something sweet in him that Matti saw. She ventured out and persued him, and two years after she graduated they were married. This went against what the Quick's had in mind for their daughter though. She was supposed to marry someone of pureblood, she was supposed to produce more pureblooded children. Having halfblooded children was not acceptable. For some reason the elitist ideals her parents and her whole family had set in their mind, never fully transfered over to Matti. Instead only their pig-headed-stubborn nature did. Which was why she never left Robert. Instead they proudly introduced little Sophie Isobella Corner into the world. Sophie was more of her father than her mother. Grew up the same way too. Two years after Sophie they had their first son, and their last child. Michael Arthur Corner. Even as a babe he embodied the spunky-nature of his mother, while forming out to be like his father. Sophie and he became very close, and inseperable once Michael learned how to walk. The two children were also rather troublesome to their parents from time to time. Michael more like their mother, and Sophie more like their father, they managed to create a completely new source. Mischief came in every form for the tired parents. Sophie would stage him in the living room giving a tantrum, while she snuck into the kitchen to get into the cookie jar. This happened so many times that when the parents finally figured it out, it was far too late. Michael and Sophie could both reach the cookie jar of their own accord and grabbed the cookies whenever they pleased. Sophie tended to be the dominating one of the pair. Something she definitely got from her mother. The dominating nature of her became so great that she used Michael as a blank canvas for various make-up experiments the summer after her first year in Hogwarts. When Sophie left for school Michael was left alone to figure out what he wanted to do. It was slightly awkward for him, but he none the less got on with it. He infact became a slightly dominating person himself. He became closer with his mother, and also learned the fine art of being a gentleman. Then came the time of his letter to Hogwarts, he was thuroughly pleased that it had come, but it was to come regardless. He wasn't a squib, instead he was a good wizard who had shown magical capabilities at around seven. The train ride was all so encompassing. He wanted to be there at the school and accepted into Ravenclaw so badly. His sister had been placed there, his parents were there. To not be in there he felt he'd be letting down the whole family. Thankfully he was placed there. This was where he met the best friends a person could ever have. Terry Boot, Anthony Goldstein, and Kevin Entwhistle. They were his 'crew' throughout the trying years. All the whispers and rumours about the one who had lived through He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. The most important ones in his life were from the fourth year and on. During fourth year he did support Harry -to a point- he wouldn't wear that button. At the Yule Ball was where he begun talking with Ginny Weasley, and in fifth year he started dating her. It was more over the summer than anything though. Fifth year brought about Dumbledore's Army. Michael was referred to it by Ginny, and took all of his friends in. Later that year he and Ginny broke up, and then he begun to date Cho Chang. Over the summer before Sixth year he broke up with her, she was just too needy and whiney. That summer also brought Kevin Entwhistle to his humble abode. Sixth year's end was tragic. The death of a beloved headmaster. While Michael wasn't terribly close with the man, he did respect and was going to miss him. For he wasn't too sure about what was going to happen to the school now that he was gone. Would McGonagall become Headmistress? Regardless he pressed on, though once the Muggleborns were being recalled he viciously felt like he wanted to do something more than just sit there on his couch and read the prophet. personality. FIRST IMPRESSION "Very nice, and fit? Too good to be true." BEHAVIOUR Intelligent, manipulative, hero-complex. Three clear points to Michael Arthur Corner. By no means is Michael an idiot. The exact opposite could be said for this one. With little drive for academic work he still manages to pull out passing marks, and half of the time above passing marks. If this one were ever to put his mind to something it would be a fearsome thing to behold. Michael is also slightly manipulative. Both of himself and of others. While it isn't to a gross ammount, it can be both considered a fault and a virtue. He won't always bend to people's will inwardly, but from time to time he will alter his disposition to try and get them to alter theirs. This can be said straight with flirting. With each girl, comes a different form of flattery. One will need to be constantly complimented. While another a few words of compliments would be enough. For others constant hounding, or things like that would be necessary. It would just be the simple bending things to try and get people to see his way. Never has ever tried being manipulative on something of a larger scale, in truth he'd be kind of afraid of doing it. The way that flirting comes so easily to him is slightly awe-inspiring, but if he were to conduct his manipulative self in a larger situation, he's pretty sure he'd become addicted. Unwilling to become a manipulative bastard he sticks to just the vicious flirting all the time. When people think about Michael they usually have the thought of 'hero-complex' stuck in their mind. Over years at Hogwarts it's only gotten worse. Not as bad as Harry Potter's but also not as nurtured as his either. Instead of going after a leader of something Michael would be the one to take out all of the screws of a table, and once someone does something (someone like a true Hero, Harry Potter) then the table collapses. Of course he doesn't fancy himself going straight up to He-who-must-not-be-named, or any of his cohorts. But Michael tends to do whats right, or tries to in any case. A leader would also come to mind when having thoughts about Michael Corner. Naturally born, and just like his mother he has little problem with assuming a leadership role. Though at the same time he doesn't have a problem with becoming a follower to a strong worthy leader. Michael is a natrually easy-going guy, he doesn't usually worry with the big picture, and only focuses on what is infront of him. Though lately he's become a bit of a worry-wart about the school and the situation. For that he's submersed himself in his work, or will at least. That's one of his coping mechanisms. To focus on work, something he can completely and utterly control. Trust and friendship are strong words to him. While he's loyal like a hufflepuff, he isn't exactly as gentle-mannered as they are. To break Michael's trust, well its unlikely that it will ever be earned again. FEARS That he'll be left alone in the end. HABITS Running hand through hair when bored. Biting his lip.
